The following two products have been tried and tested reliably in the field, and are used effectively by many of our customers. The RDA is for simple logging and monitoring of up to 10 inputs, whereas the ICU is an up-market multi-channel 40 I/O device that enables the user to apply measured values into IF/THEN/ELSE logical programming blocks for performing complex operations. The ICU also has a built in PID controlled profiler, and comes complete with it's own windows™ based software set-up package.

RDA

Remote Data Acquisition Unit for monitoring thermocouples, mV and mA signals

ICU

Integrated Control Unit with 40 I/O channels, powerful query language and RS422/485 serial communications

Data Acquisition is a means of electronically reading and logging data from a source, to be processed or modified on a P.C. There are two units available from FGH that have this capability, whether it be monitoring thermocouples, mV, mA or manipulating digital switching and logic signals. These units are connected to a P.C. via an RS422 (2 wire) or RS485 (4 wire) EIA serial communications link, and the data acquired can be modified, logged, be used in alarming or retransmission conditions or even viewed in a required format. More and more businesses are using this method, as it enables a greater degree of overlooking a process or system that is normally left to just take orders from controllers. The operator can view on their computer screen exactly what is occurring at various points within their system, and can then make decisions as to whether changes need to be made.
